Abacus: Soroban Mental Math
Bead Drills & Speed Practice
Abacus trains mental math on a Japanese soroban. You move the beads, read the number, then answer with the abacus hidden — anzan practice so sums stay in your head without a calculator.
Lessons start with beads worth 1 and 5, then add, subtract, multiply, and divide — including friend-of-5 and friend-of-10 moves when a rod fills up. Daily drills, flash cards, and anzan flashes build speed. Streaks and progress stay on this device; there is no account and no third-party analytics in this version.
Lessons walk from the first bead through multiplication and division, showing carries on the rods instead of memorizing tricks alone.
Practice includes a daily drill where you set the answer on the soroban, flash cards that ask you to name a bead pattern, and anzan that flashes a short sum then waits for the total.
Built for parents practicing with a child, students who freeze on homework, and adults who want quicker mental arithmetic. Abacus will not solve a worksheet for you — you still make the number.
Full access requires Abacus Pro after onboarding (auto-renewable weekly or yearly subscription, or optional lifetime purchase; prices in the App Store). Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation. Subscriptions renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Frequently asked questions
What is anzan?
Anzan is mental abacus practice: you visualize the soroban (or see a flash), then answer without the physical beads on screen.
Does Abacus need an account?
No. Progress, streaks, and in-app notes are stored on your device only.
Does Abacus collect my data?
This version is designed as Data Not Collected: no account, no third-party analytics, and no tracking SDKs. See the privacy policy on Weblak for details.
Do I need Abacus Pro?
Yes for full access after onboarding. Abacus Pro is offered as weekly, yearly, or lifetime (prices in the App Store). Cancel subscriptions in Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Will Abacus do my homework?
No. It trains you to make the number yourself — it is practice, not an answer engine.
Abacus is an educational practice tool. It does not replace a teacher, curriculum, or professional tutoring.
